Nurses Honored for Excellence in Nursing

Seven nurses from Nebraska Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) were recently honored as winners of the inaugural Omaha Magazine Excellence in Nursing Awards. The awards were designed to honor the region’s outstanding nursing professionals and recognize their extraordinary contributions to patients, their families, the nursing profession and the health care system. But Vincent is alive today to talk about it. After Vincent was transferred to Nebraska Medicine, doctors put him on a heart and lung machine to give his heart time to recover.
