Greetings dear friends & partners of Hope Force International, Haiti!
In light of your commitment and involvement in our long-term work in Haiti, we wanted to make you aware of a vital need. There are few things more impactful on the quality of life in tropical climates than that of electricity. In our case, this provision is made sustainable by the use of a generator that is utilized by our team. After many years of faithful service, the time has come to secure a replacement to serve for years to come.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to help address this vital need! Your partnership is important to us, and is an essential element to our ongoing viability.
The Problem:
We must replace the existing generator used by our Sous Savanne, Haiti guesthouse, as a reliable electricity supply is non-existent. To address this critical need, Hope Force International (HFI) installed solar panels, batteries and an inverter in the effort to provide electricity at our team home. To supplement our power and give extra charge to the battery system, we have the use of a generator which we share with a large guesthouse and small church.
When we decided to “move into the neighborhood” – right in the heart of the community in 2014 – we knew the existing generator was already in use by the church and guesthouse. The 16 KVA “Delco” as it is called here, has provided faithful service every day for seven years. However, repair costs are now becoming prohibitive, and we’ve experienced regular interruption of service.
