Breaking News: Los Angeles Basketball Plus Camps

BCI has planned two Basketball Plus Camps in the Los Angeles area. The camps, in Compton (at the same Parks and Recreation facility as last year’s event) and in Long Beach (at a Boys and Girls Club facility), will be held simultaneously on Saturday, August 20.

Volunteer now! 12 on-court volunteers are needed (college-age or older with basketball skills/knowledge) and 14 off-court volunteers (college-age or older, various roles) are needed at the BCI Basketball Plus Camps in Compton and Long Beach.

Food Sponsors needed! If you know of a company or food vendor that would like to sponsor lunch for the kids at the LA camps, please get in touch with us. Kids love sandwiches, pizza, and sponsors like you!

Every BCI Basketball Plus Camp is uniquely designed to fit the needs of local partner organizations and the kids they inspire. The camp schedule includes basketball skills training and breakout sessions where mentors and professional players will talk about integrity, character, values, faith and what it means to be a hero. Professional players and community mentors encourage the youths to identify the heroes in their own lives, and also think of ways that they may also be heroes for others.

To get involved, please contact Kathy Scheuerman at kathy@bciedge.org.

June Facebook Fan Page Highlights

• BCI welcomes Kerry Koberg and Holly Wagstaff Bellomo to our team. Kerry Koberg played basketball for the University of Iowa (like Sharm!) and will help expand BCI Loop, our fraternity for professional basketball players. Kerry is the VP of Sales at DICA. Holly Wagstaff Bellomo's professional event planning and business experience will support BCI's fundraising efforts. We are thrilled that Kerry and Holly have added their voices to ours.
