A recent study showed that the cases of "hidden" celiac disease are declining.  Overall, the total number of those with celiac disease remains stable (approximately 1% of the population), but the number of people who have the disease and don't know it are declining.  

Education is working.  Continue to speak about celiac disease and encourage family members or friends to get tested if warranted.  

Do you have a gluten free child heading off to college in the fall?  The Celiac Center at Advocate Children's Hospital is offering a free seminar to help guide you and your child through the maze of being gluten free while away at college.
