PreK4 eNews

We had a wonderful week talking about all we are thankful for and learning about that first Thanksgiving!  From discussing that the Pilgrims came to America so they could worship God freely to learning how God provided for the Pilgrims, we learned about God’s sovereignty.  We are thankful that we can share with your children that God has a plan for everyone!

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” Psalm 118:1 (We will recite this verse in chapel on Thursday.  Practice at home too!)
  • Bible: The First Thanksgiving (Although this story is not from God’s word, we will learn how this event from our history was part of God’s plan)
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the vowel “Ii” and the short vowel sound that /i/ makes (think igloo and itch).
  • Math:  #7
  • Unit: The First Thanksgiving
  • Show and Tell:  Bring a picture (this can be drawn, printed, or a photo) of something you are thankful for!

Important Dates

  • November 19 - Grade Level Competitions! (5 day classes only since this is a Monday) PreK children are encouraged to dress “cozy”.  (Sweats, sweatshirts, any t-shirt, cozy socks, etc.) The grade level with the highest percentage of participation wins a treat!
  • November 20 - Each class will have a small Thanksgiving “feast” as a reminder of the first Thanksgiving.  Please look for an email from your child’s teacher.
  • November 20 - Children may wear spirit dress (any Shiloh t-shirt and jeans)
  • November 21-23 - Thanksgiving Break (No School)
