Message from the Director

Jennifer L. McCaul, Director

I am not sure where the summer went but I'm sure we'll be talking about the snow soon enough. However, first let's talk about FALL and all of the new things we have going on this semester as well as the returning programs and events.

We have so many exciting new programs starting this fall. Students are asking that we use technology to provide them with information. To answer that call, we are starting several innovative programs this fall including advising via skype; broadcasting texts about jobs/internships, scholarships, and events; and relaunching our facebook page. In addition we will be bringing back our student success seminar series and other events throughout the year. (more below)

I would also like to congratulate two of our staff members who have been recognized by the Michigan Academic Advising Association as Outstanding Advisors. (more below)

I am also so thankful to have so many talented faculty and staff that work in our college to provide information and opportunities to our students. Without you, our office could not do what it does.  Please keep reading...we created this newsletter for you...please share this information with students you are in contact with and look for future updates at the first of every month. Have a FANTASTIC semester!!

RU Ready?

We continue our efforts to ensure students come prepared for their advising session and are part of the advising process. Next week, we will send all CCPS first year students information welcoming them to the college, letting them know how to schedule an appointment with an advisor, how they can prepare for their session, and what steps they need to take to have a successful advising appointment. This includes accessing and using myPath! MORE INFORMATION
