Therapeutic Associates Gresham Physical Therapy Therapist Now Credentialed as a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist

We are excited to announce that Emily Rust PT, DPT, OCS received her board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist this month.

Board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists are recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) as individuals whose clinical specialization in orthopedic physical therapy demonstrates knowledge, skill and experience exceeding that of an entry level physical therapist. The specialist certification program was established to provide formal recognition for physical therapists with advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills in this special area of practice and to assist consumers and the health care community in identifying these physical therapists.

To become a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Emily completed over 2,000 hours of direct patient care in the specialty area of orthopedics as well as study of the recent literature and research in orthopedic physical therapy.

Welcoming Nikki Perry, PTA

Our team at Therapeutic Associates Gresham Physical Therapy would like to warmly welcome Nikki Perry!

Nikki obtained her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Whitman College in 1999. She spent nine years doing social work as a youth outreach coordinator with a local non-profit organization before transitioning her career to the field of health and wellness. After completing two 200-hour yoga teacher training programs Nikki became a therapeutic yoga instructor, specializing in teaching the basics of yoga, breath, alignment, strength and stability in group classes and private sessions. During this time she spent two years working as a PT Aide in an outpatient Physical Therapy setting. Nikki returned to school in 2012 and graduated with an Associates of Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2014 from Mount Hood Community College. She looks forward to pursuing continuing education in the areas of women's health and postural restoration. A native Oregonian, Nikki has spent time studying and working in Spain and Central America, and continually strives to improve her Spanish language skills. In her free time she enjoys practicing yoga, cooking, hiking, reading and working in her garden.
