Success and Setbacks: Jose “Chepo” Leyva-Lopez has won praise for his home-made tamales and business acumen, but dozens of hurdles remain

In the past two decades, day in and day out, Jose “Chepo” Leyva-Lopez and his wife, Maria, have risen at dawn to painstakingly roll their renowned homemade tamales. They make hundreds of them daily to sell across Solano County at local agricultural fairs, produce stands, and from their storefront in tiny Elmira, California, population less than 200. RCAC Loan Fund lends more than $5.5 million to rural communities

West Sacramento, Calif. — In the quarter ending December 31, 2014, Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) closed 20 loans totaling more than $5.5 million to assist rural communities in Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, and Washington for community development projects --> Full release

Acute stress interferes with your ability to focus, think clearly and work productively. Therefore, when you need to use a stress buffering technique to calm yourself down, you may need help remembering what to do. The Huffington Post advises a few tips on reducing stress in the new year:

1. Observe your thoughts and question them often.

2. Eat well, sleep more and move around a lot.

3. Get rid of what you don't need and make room for what you want.

4. Positive trumps negative. Always.

5. Connect to something greater than yourself.

Using these techniques can result in a happier healthier you.
