2nd Grade eNews

We learned a lot about storms this week and enjoyed having great discussions about them!

• Bible - We will continue our study of Ruth reading chapters 2-4.
• Verse - Galatians 5:14 “For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
• Reading - We will learn about stories that have a lesson or moral. We will also be learning about characters through our story: How Chipmunk Got His Stripes.
• Phonics - We will be working on base words and endings.

• Grammar - Verbs in the present tense
• Math - We will finish up adding 2 digit numbers and problem-solving. We will test on Wednesday. We will start our next chapter on 2 digit subtraction.

Who doesn’t love a good cupcake? Join us for a fundraiser TODAY at Bliss Cupcakes until 10 pm! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Shiloh Christian School Playgrounds.  Both Fayetteville (Uptown) Bliss & Rogers (Promenade) Bliss are participating.

It’s almost time for the annual Junior Class FALL CARNIVAL & SILENT AUCTION! Tuesday, October 23rd from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the SEC Gym. There will be games, candy, food & fun – what more could you ask for! $10 wristbands will be sold for unlimited play time.

• October 23 - Junior Carnival at  the Springdale Campus from 5 pm - 7 pm
• October 30 - Fire Prevention at 8:00 am
• October 31 - Picture Retakes & Wear your Favorite Team Jersey!
• November 5 - Second Grade Apple Pie Contest, More information to come! We will also go to the Springdale campus to see the Secondary Musical.
• November 6 - Blue/Gold Game & Pancake Supper at the Springdale campus
• November 21-23 - Thanksgiving Break
