Hi there,

November Month-long Challenge! Are you ready?!

Is No Shave November still a thing? Well, I have a new November challenge for you! And hopefully this challenge keeps a lot more money in your pockets. November is one of my favorite months. It kicks off the holiday season with good food and family, and is also a great month to complete goals you set in the beginning of the year that you haven’t completed. One of my goals for 2016 is to save a certain amount of money. So I’m using this November to stack some cash in preparation for the holidays, and I want you to join me! It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it… literally. Check out the video to find out exactly what it is!

Where’s Young & Free?

Want a pair of Red Wings tickets? Michigan First is the Official Credit Union of the Detroit Red Wings®, and we’ve partnered with them for a fun scavenger hunt called Where’s Young & Free? All you have to do is find my bright yellow car, which actually isn’t very hard to spot. On any given day, the Red Wings and I will both be posting clues to help you find the Young & Free car. Be the first person to get to my car at each stop and score a pair of tickets! It’s that easy! Now, all you have to do is follow me on Twitter and Facebook to see the clues. Do it now so you don’t miss out on the next #WheresYoungAndFree scavenger hunt. Happy Hockey Season! Go Wings!

Oops! I overdrafted!

It has happened to me so many times… I get to the register to buy something and I’m nervous because I don’t know if I have enough money in my account. My card goes through. I can breathe again. But then I check my account later. I overdrafted. I have a fee. So now I’m REALLY broke. Moral of the story, this doesn’t have to be you. Now that the holidays are approaching, it’s easy to go overboard with spending. With the Young & Free Michigan First Gear® Account, we offer Oops Forgiveness. That means you are eligible to waive one overdraft fee every six months as a First Gear account holder. Everybody makes mistakes. But we’ve got you covered. You can also use our mobile app to check your balance before you make a purchase to avoid overdrafting your account. To learn more check out YoungFreeMichigan.com!

Video: Good vs. Bad Spending

In this It's a Money Thing video, Jen learns how to use psychology to build a budget you can stick with.

Cheers to the beginning of a stress-free holiday season! Oh yeah, I’ll be spending a lot of time at University of Detroit Mercy and Wayne State hanging out at basketball games, volleyball games and more. Stop by and meet me if you get a chance! Follow me on social for constant updates and a lot of holiday fun!

Be Easy,
