Four Year Blueprint for Student Success

blueprint

Did you know that there is a Blueprint to help students navigate their path toward their degree at GVSU? The Four Year Blueprint for Student Success was developed to guide students from their first year through their second, third, and fourth plus years by identifying academic and community landmarks students could reach. The Blueprint can be used by faculty and students to talk about ways to maximize the educational experience. Students are presented with the Blueprint at orientation and in the Do Something Guide

Early Alert Initiative: Midterm Contact

bar chart showing growth

On October 18th the staff of the CCPS Advising Center made contact with nearly 350 CCPS students who received a university midterm grade report. This represents a 45% increase from last fall's contacts. These reports are made available in myBanner to every student who has earned less than 25 college credits or is on academic review. Our contact is to prompt students to review their midterm grades, provide information about our advising services and workshops, inform them of policies and deadlines, and to provide general outreach for those students who may be struggling academically at this point in the semester.

College of Community & Public Service Majors (Aggregate)

  • 345 students received midterm grades

Laker Experience Days

campus landscape

Faculty and staff representatives from the CCPS units had the opportunity to interact with prospective students and their families at two Laker Experience Days in the month of October. At these events students and families have the opportunity to explore what GVSU has to offer by engaging with faculty from the academic programs, hearing from university adminstrators, and going on a campus tour. Nearly 200 students and family members specifically connected with CCPS representatives. Thank you to the faculty that attended this event! This is such an important tool to reach prospective students. Your time is very much appreciated!
