Dear Friends,

“Away in a manger…the little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head….” What a beautiful picture of vulnerability: God in human form as a baby. The scripture tells us that Jesus made Himself nothing and took on the very nature of a servant.  He did not come to be served – but to serve. Do you want to be like Jesus? Become a servant! In Acts we read that Jesus “went around doing good.” Shouldn’t we do the same? Identify the needs of people all around us and be like Jesus; meet human needs – practical, emotional, physical, relational, spiritual.

An antidote to division within our nations is The Church functioning as the servant she was meant to be – laying our lives down in service unto others. When we serve others, the very nature of Jesus is breaking out – and the Good News is demonstrated and proclaimed! (Isaiah 61)

Let’s present Jesus with a beautiful gift for His birthday this year – something He longs for and can’t provide for Himself. Let’s give Him our lives – emptied of anything that competes with His agenda…filled with an eagerness to join Him in “going about doing good.”

With hope and appreciation,

Jack & Cherie Minton, Founders

What's Ahead for Hope Force International:

  • In Haiti, we hope to see the completion of the ECCA School rebuilding project. Once completed, the children will be afforded an opportunity to have a safe and conducive environment for learning.
  • HFI will be returning to Nepal again this year to serve with our wonderful in-country partner that suffered greatly in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake. Our medical and construction teams will be building housing and bringing much needed healthcare to remote villages.
  • HFI Mexico has been launched and we will recruit and train more Reservists for service. One of the first acts of this newly formed ministry will hopefully include sending a team to Cuba!
  • We will continue rebuilding efforts in Louisiana, while remaining vigilant and prepared to respond to disasters in the USA and around the world.

For this to happen, HFI must end the year on a solid financial footing.

Would you please consider including Hope Force International in your year-end giving?  We know that it is important to be a good steward of hard-earned resources. We can assure you that any gift made to HFI will increase in value as it combines with thousands of hours of donated labor and a staff that raises their own support. Overhead costs are kept to a minimum, while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence and meeting the most stringent financial and governmental requirements.  Hope Force International is also a member of ECFA – the Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability.

A gift of any amount will help make a world of difference.  Thank you!

Meet North Carolina Congressman, Mike McIntyre:

NC Congressman, Mike McIntyre, played a key part in Hope Force's ability to serve those in hard-hit Lumberton. We're grateful for his kind words in this short video:

Hurricane Matthew Response

In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, our focus in Haiti has been to partner with the local community to erect shelters on behalf of those whose dwellings were destroyed in the storm. (We have also had the privilege of replacing the roof of a local church.) This has been made possible by the generous donations of many with a heart to help. We are deeply grateful for our partner and generous donor – Grace Chapel of Franklin, TN. Their team, led by Missions Pastor Myron Goodwin, worked tirelessly on behalf of those who lost so much in “our village” of Sous Savanne.

We Need a Truck!

This is not a luxury in Haiti. Of course, road conditions in Haiti are tough and harsh – and in our village, we have a combination of rocky and often muddy roads. Even in the city, there are large potholes and other harsh conditions; you can imagine the toll this takes on our vehicle.  As the scope of ministry has expanded, so do the demands for transportation of people and supplies to and from the various projects. Our existing vehicle is “tired” and overworked, and is being asked to do far more than what it was designed to do. The time has come for HFI to acquire a newer, larger and better-suited vehicle for the task. Would you please consider making a donation today to help? READ MORE

Be a part of restoring hope in Louisiana!

HFI has identified three vulnerable survivors from the Louisiana flood to help in the rebuild phase. We will be returning with people and resources – December thru early spring 2017. Would you consider volunteering your time to this project? Any amount of time – from one day to two weeks – would be welcome.

Contact Joey Stoltzfus at 518-728-4440 or Email Joey for up-to-date information.

Meet the flood survivors Hope Force is serving:

Even though it was difficult, Miss Patsy was willing to share from her heart what she experienced the night of the flood. We invite you to take a moment to watch this short, compelling video.

Hope Force Mexico is underway!

In October, HFI provided disaster response training for 35 eager participants in Pachuca, Mexico. The experience was incredibly gratifying, and provided the foundation for what will be the establishment of Hope Force International in Mexico. At the request of several local leaders, efforts are underway to establish HFI as a non-profit in Mexico and to develop a well-equipped cadre of Reservists. This will increase HFI’s capacity to respond nationally within Mexico, throughout Central & South America and beyond.
Please join us in prayer for God’s direction, provision and favor as we seek to follow His initiation.

Cuba may be in our future!  There are Reservists in Mexico with a heart to serve the people of Cuba. We are entering into a discovery process together, and It is possible that a team will be recruited for Spring 2017. Stay Tuned!
