Meet the Candidates at the September 8th Meeting

We are continuing to do two meetings per month up until the November election.  We are inviting all of the candidates that will be in the November 8th Election.  We will be doing a straw poll at each of the three meetings; finiishing on October 8th.  From there we will do a "voter recommendation guide" and publish it in the local newspapers, etc.  Please come out for these meetings and invite your friends and family.  It will help you make the best decision in the election and give you the chance to have input into who we recommend!

The next meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8th at the Jackie Taylor Building, Our speakers that night will be: Rob Lapham - U.S. Representative District 2 Libertarian candidate;  Jerry Bullard  - State Representative;  Buddy Williams – Suwannee County Sheriff;  Lamar Jenkins – Suwannee County Property Appraiser; Ron Williams – Columbia County Commissioner Disttrict 1 and possibly one more.  Everyone is invited to attend this meeting.  Please invite your friends and family.  Go to www.northcentralfloridateaparty.org

We meet at 128 SW Birley Road, Lake City.  This is approximately 3 miles west of the I-75 interchange, on the corner of U.S. 90 and Birley Road.

Do You Have A Duty To Inform When Carrying Concealed? We Look At All 50 States For The Answers

Gun Owners of America does a great job keeping us informed on pending legislation and other things we need to know when it comes to guns.  This is a good article to tell you what your responsibilites are when traveling if you are a concealed carry permit holder:

If you followed a previous article where we highlighted the plight of Brian Fletcher, there’s a big question looming as to whether or not you have a duty to inform law enforcement (or anyone) as to whether or not you are carrying without first being asked.

We take a state-by-state look at each state’s gun laws to find out who you have a duty to inform and when.  This only applies to a person with the state’s designated version of a license or permit to carry a concealed firearm (or weapon, as the term applies) or granted reciprocity therein to do so.
