Devon Energy Sunday Twilight Concert Series

Enjoy a concert every Sunday on the newly renovated Grand Lawn at the Myriad Gardens.

These FREE concerts run through August 28. Show time is 7 p.m.  The August 21 concert will feature the OK Chorale.

School Supply Drive

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and American Fidelity Assurance Company are sponsoring a school supply drive Thursday, August 18 in the Leadership Square Atrium. All supplies will be donated to the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation.

The top ten needs are: white copy paper, facial tissue, Expo markers, pencils, hand sanitizer, transparent tape refill, crayons, broad line markers, refill staples and wide and college ruled notebook paper.

Donations can also be dropped off during the week at the Chamber offices at 123 Park Avenue.

Summer Blood Drive

The Leadership Square & Oklahoma Tower Summer Blood Drive is today, August 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Leadership Square Conference Center.

Donors will receive a voucher for two tickets to the Oklahoma City Zoo along with a "feel strong" zoo themed T-shirt and a free health screening.

Photo ID required to donate. Walk-ins welcome.

 

First Person: Stories of Hope

Survivors and others affected by the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building will share their stories during a weekly series, "First Person: Stories of Hope," this summer.

Each week until August 26, a different survivor, family member or worker will speak on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. in the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum's Center for Education and Outreach. The presentations are free with paid admission to the museum, which is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors, military members or students.

Historic Preservation Expo

The Historic Preservation EXPO: Supporting Sustainable, Livable Communities will be held August 19 and 20 at the Cox Convention Center. The EXPO will provide exposure to local resources, available materials, demonstrations booths and the latest sustainable and preservation sources.

Can You See Me Now: Photos Made on Phones

A unique exhibit that resulted from an international call to entry for what is considered a whole new genre of photography in the digital age, photographs made using mobile phones.

The exhibit  runs through October 1 at [ARTSPACE] at UNTITLED located at 1 NE 3rd St. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to  5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

2011-12 Thunder Schedule Released

Get ready to Thunder Up with the newly released 2011-2012 Thunder schedule.

The Thunder will open the regular season at the L.A. Lakers on Nov. 1 and will play its home opener Nov. 4 against the Indiana Pacers. The Thunder will appear in 27 nationally televised games.

Stay Fit and Have Fun at the Downtown College

It’s never been easier to stay fit and have fun.  Join our certified instructors for NOONTIME PILATES, AFTER-WORK ZUMBA, or SALSA dancing. These 8-week classes start the week of August 22, and the first “Try-It-You’ll-Like-It” session is FREE

Pilates takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 to 12:45, Zumba on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30, and Salsa on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30.
