2nd Grade eNews

Academics

  • Bible – We will study the compassion of Jesus.
  • Memory Verse - Matthew 9:36, “When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd.”
  • Reading – Our story will be “From Seed to Plant.” We will discuss informational text.
  • Spelling – We will be working with spelling words with the /oo/ sound spelled like ew, ue, and oo. Here are some examples:  blew    chew    dew
  • glue    blue    clue   moon    broom    spoon
  • Grammar – We will work on Adverbs and talk about what questions they answer such as  how? when? where? to what degree?
  • Math – Our skills this week include subtraction with 0 in the minuend, word problems, measuring to find perimeter, division by 5, multiplying with 0 as a factor, comparing pounds and ounces to grams and kilograms.

Important Dates

  • March 10 - Virtual Day
  • March 13-16 - Student Led Conferences after school - please sign up with your teacher
  • March 20-24 - Spring Break - No School
  • March 31 - Morning with Mom and Art Fair
  • April 7 - Good Friday - No School
  • April 10-4 - Standardized Testing - Please, if at all possible, do not make any appointments during the morning hours 8-11 this week.
