1st Grade eNews

Here's a reminder about how we will handle snow days if we have them!  If we are out for snow, we will just enjoy the day off for the 1st day; if we miss more than one day, the 2nd day will be a cyber snow day.  Look for an email from your teacher with instructions on what your child needs to do.  

• Bible - Following Jesus (The Vine and the Branches, Fishers of Men, The Church begins to grow)

• Reading - Essential Question: What do farmers need to grow food?
• Spelling & Phonics - long a sound (words with ai & ay); Spelling “ay” words

• Comprehension Skills & Strategies - Author’s Purpose
• Writing - Narrative Writing; Friendly Letter
• Vocabulary Strategies - Multiple meaning words
• Grammar - Names of months, days & holidays
• Unit - Food & where it comes from
• Math - Chapter 12: Adding double digits; Please continue practicing addition/subtraction facts to 12

• February 7 - SHILOH CONNECT for Shiloh families from 8-9am followed by 1st Grade Little Dribblers & PH Jigglers at 9:15 am in SEC Gym
• February 18 - No School - Presidents’ Day
• February 19 - Discover Shiloh Dinner Event for prospective families from 6 - 7-30 pm in the Kids Theater
