Adelaide gets a kick out of international football |
 |
 |
A sea of green and gold converged upon Adelaide Oval in June to watch Australia’s Socceroos take on the All Whites of New Zealand in an international soccer friendly.
And for the record Australia won 3-0!
The match is the first of many high-profile international sporting events anticipated for Adelaide Oval, with a major redevelopment of the stadium due for completion in 2014.
The project will place Adelaide on the global map for a range of international and national entertainment and sporting events. It should also help to draw large crowds to the city and in particular the riverbank precinct which adjoins Adelaide Oval, creating opportunities for hotels, restaurants, bars and shops.
The Oval, located on the perimeter of the CBD, is close to Adelaide’s major train and bus services, making access to the Oval convenient for all Adelaide residents.
Visit the Adelaide Oval website for more information.

Adelaide officially Oz’s most liveable city |
 |
 |
It’s official, Adelaide is Australia’s most liveable city.
That’s the finding of a recent Productivity Commission report which compared the planning and zoning systems across all state and territory jurisdictions.
The report measured each state and territory capital under 17 ‘liveability’ criteria such as public safety, climate, public transport, quality of schooling and housing affordability.
When compared to other state and territory capitals, Adelaide was found to have affordable housing, passable public transport and manageable levels of traffic congestion.
Statistics from the report showed that Adelaide’s medium house price rose only 5.1 percent in the period between 2001 and 2010 second only to Hobart at 4.8 percent.
Meanwhile, a recent study conducted by Women’s Health magazine has also found that South Australia women are the happiest and healthiest in the nation.
The survey also found that Adelaide is rated the friendliest city in the nation and its residents are the most concerned about healthy eating.
