For some time now I have been challenging myself against the speed and endurance of Lionel Messi.  I know it’s him by the familiar coloured stripes on his globally recognised shirt and the large number 10 placed strategically and symmetrically below the name on his back.  I regularly spend a brief part of most Saturday mornings Park Run watching his name and number fade into the distance......

Sign up for the 100 Mile Challenge

We have 52 schools taking part in the 100 Mile Challenge this year. We still have funding in South Lakes, Allerdale and Eden. If you are in Carlisle, Copeland or Furness, costs start from £140 for 100 pupils and prices are scaled thereafter.

PE and Sport update

The Association for Physical Education (afPE) has been commissioned by Sport England to produce resources comprising of a poster highlighting the difference that physical education
can make to the pupils in your school and an information leaflet for parents/carers outlining the importance of children and young people being active. afPE recognises how important children and young people’s physical health and emotional well-being are and the relationship between these and academic achievement.

These complimentary resources promote the benefits of physical education, school sport, physical activity and will help implement recommendations from the following national
