The Adventures of Tangela and Nina Or, SID Explores Southwest

Last Saturday Semester in Detroit took a trip to Southwest Detroit. We had coffee at Cafe Con Leche, visited Urban Neighborhood Initiatives, ate at Pupuseria Restaurante Salvadoreno with Southwest Detroit Community Benefits Coalition, took a tour of Southwest Rides, and ended the day at The Alley Project. The goal was to visit and hear from community partners doing important work and learn more about the history and cultures of Southwest Detroit. Tangela and Nina (SID alumni and staff) joined us for the day and it was a great reminder that there's always more to learn and gain from being part of the SID family!
Watch Tangela & Nina star in our short video!
