The lean-to roof can now be enclosed when required (seats 12-14).

The giant Shadesail sits over manicured lawn with chairs and tables, overlooking gum trees and paddocks (space for 30 plus).

During the holiday period coming up:  Cellar door is open every day from Saturday December 24th 2011 through to Monday  January 2nd 2012.

Spring and early summer sees stunning green shoots with good growth.  After the vintage horribilus of 2011, with relentless disease resulting from high rainfall, we swept the vineyard floor of dirty debris and spread fresh mulch under the vines.  The midrows grew new grass instead of weeds and we have already culled out any excess or weak shots to leave only the healthiest.  The sun has shone and so far - so good!

The winery is undergoing a large change! Rowly is currently converting the open machinery shed into an enclosed temperature controlled space that will increase working area and make wine production much more effecient.

This is an exciting time for the business as vintage 2012 is shaping up to be a great one.

The new white Fleur 2011 made from Brown Muscat is half sold out – a vibrant aroma you can smell from afar, crisp and fresh with a trace only of natural sweetness.  Orders limited to 6 per person.

The new Affinity Durif 2008 designed for summer drinking has now become a best seller as the weather warms up.

And After Dark! Many Scionistas have now discovered this lightly fortified Durif just right. It can be chilled and enjoyed with or without food.

Sold out wines include the Rose Muscat and Single Vintage Muscat 2007.

Watch out for the imminent release of the most provocative Single Vintage Muscat yet – 2009, a spirituous semi dry fortified wine for aperitif drinking.

Rowly and fellow Rutherglen Young Bloods have been working on a large and exciting event that will feature during the 2012 Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. Bikini & The Bear is a 12 winemaker wine party featuring six Rutherglen winemakers and six cool-climate Victorian winemakers. The night promises to be quite something and includes food and entertainment. Tickets are available here (this event will sell out) and there is a Facebook page here.
