"JEWISH AMERICANS READY FOR HILLARY" LAUNCHES
Joins Ready for Hillary effort
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Jewish Americans, already ready for Hillary Clinton to run for president, now have another place to show their support. Ready for Hilary, the grassroots political action committee created to encourage the former Secretary of State to run for president in 2016, announced today the formation of Jewish Americans Ready for Hillary. See www.readyforhillary.com/webform/jewish-americans.
Organized initially by leading Jewish Democrats Marc Stanley, Fran Katz Watson and Steve Rabinowitz, Jewish Americans Ready for Hillary seeks to organize and activate Jewish Americans to volunteer, speak out and give and raise money to the premier effort encouraging the would-be campaign of Hillary Rodham Clinton.
With over two million supporters and more than 55,000 grassroots donors, many Jewish Americans have already signed up with Ready for Hillary. Jewish Americans Ready for Hillary seeks to substantially increase that number and to identify Jews who would also like to be known as such.
“If you’re like me, a Jewish American who wants Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016, please sign up with Jewish Americans Ready for Hillary,” says Stanley, the Dallas trial lawyer and immediate past chair of the National Jewish Democratic Council. “And if you’re already signed up with Ready for Hillary, please add your name to Jewish Americans Ready for Hillary and help spread the word.”
Jewish Americans Ready for Hillary joins other Ready for Hillary constituency groups, such as Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders Ready for Hillary, Black Americans Ready for Hillary, Faith Ready for Hillary, Latinos Ready for Hillary, LGBT Ready for Hillary, Native Americans Ready for Hillary, Veterans Ready for Hillary, Women Ready for Hillary and Young Americans Ready for Hillary.
“We all wear many hats,” says Rachel Schneider, Ready for Hillary’s Jewish Americans Director who also serves as Ready for Hillary’s Young Americans Director. “Each of us engages in the political process in different ways. With the launch of Jewish Americans Ready for Hillary, we’re appealing to people who want Hillary to run and who identify as a Jewish American to join and to help recruit other Jews to join in this special effort.”
“This effort isn’t only about money,” says Katz Watson, the Democratic political fundraiser and former finance director for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC). “But it certainly includes money. We want your names, we want your time, we want your enthusiasm, but we also want a little of your money,” she says. “If it’s $20.16, $100.00, or Ready for Hillary’s $25,000 maximum contribution, we hope you will participate in every way you can.”
“Hillary Clinton deservedly enjoys the overwhelming support of American Jews,” says Rabinowitz, the Bill Clinton White House press aide and veteran of the national staffs of nine U.S. presidential campaigns. “We love her. It’s that simple. We want her to be president. And now, we have one more way to show her that we want her to run.”
