It's just a few weeks till submissions for CIF's 2015 Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) will be due. This bulletin is the fourth in a series that breaks down the application process and offers tips to prepare your best possible submission for this year's REOI.
Special Tips & Tools for REOI Submissions Featuring Promotion & Education (P&E) Activities
In this year's REOI, the CIF invites submissions for P&E activities that would be proposed under Form 6, Centre of Excellence projects. Proposals could focus on projects to develop marketing materials and campaigns, toolkits, training or to undertake other forms of outreach.
We also encourage submissions that include P&E campaign support for projects proposed in Forms 2 through 6. Submissions would need to explain how the P&E activities would contribute to the overall scope of work and include a workplan including costs for the P&E components.
Important Info for Your Application
- Provide supporting documentation: Strong applications will have a detailed budget, show expected savings or diversion benefits, capital budgets/quotes, multi-municipal participation and other supporting documentation.
- Develop timeline and monitoring/measurement plans: These documents are vital features of all strong projects.
- Include project evaluation criteria: Your application should describe as many of the established evaluation criteria as possible to demonstrate the strength of your proposal.

Sign up to attend the June 3 P&E Working Session: Enhance Your Next Campaign
On Wednesday, June 3 (i.e., the day before this spring's Ontario Recycler Workshop), we're hosting a P&E Working Session for all those who submit REOI applications that focus on or include P&E components. During the session, an expert communicator and CIF team members will work directly with participants to fine-tune the P&E applications to help increase chances of success.
The session is being held exclusively for municipal participants at the Blue Mountain Resort near Collingwood. It is offered free-of-charge for in person participants only.
