From Texas to Nepal, Haiti to Puerto Rico -- there's an experience of bringing compassionate action to those in need...just for you!

The historic, devastating earthquake in Haiti was 8.5 years ago, yet the work of Hope Force International continues. The earthquake in Nepal was over three years ago, and we are still collaborating with our national partners and sending medical, dental and construction teams. Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria were nearly a year ago – and Hope Force International teams have been engaged in recovery and rebuilding efforts in Texas and Puerto Rico on behalf of survivors on a regular basis.

We don’t know what the 2018 hurricane season has in store; however, we do know that survivors of previous disasters languish in despair, having lost hope that their lives will ever normalize. It is for the plight of these people, loved by God, that we invite you to consider being an expression of God’s intervening love through powerful, practical expressions of mercy.  Will you consider rolling up your sleeves and put your love of God and others into compassionate action in one or more of the service opportunities presented in this communication?

 

In this video, you will meet HFI Puerto Rico Reservists, David & Nancy Sisco-Hamilton. They have been working tirelessly with HFI teams to bring relief efforts to the people of Puerto Rico since the devastating landfall of Hurricane Maria in September 2017. You will hear about the impact that HFI teams have made this past year as local residents' homes — severely damaged by wind and rain — are being restored.   Yet, there are still thousands of homes that remain vulnerable.

In commemoration of the upcoming one-year anniversary of Hurricane Maria's landfall, Hope Force International is seeking multiple teams and individuals to participate in a "roofing blitz" between the dates of September 15 - 29, 2018  — placing as many roofs on vulnerable homes during this time as possible.

We understand that most cannot come for the entirety of this extended period of time. However, as much time as you could possibly give would be a blessing to those who are in great need. For more information, or to sign up for the "roofing-blitz", please email Sue Duby. 

Perhaps you became a Reservist years ago, but have not yet been able to join us in the field.  Don’t give up – maybe this is your time!  If you are not yet a HFI Reservist -- we would like to invite you to join us!

 

 

 

Hope Force International (HFI) responded to the devastating 2015 earthquake in Nepal by sending two back-to-back emergency medical teams. Apple of God’s Eyes (AOGE), our national partner, received these teams and worked collaboratively with HFI in an effort to meet the critical needs of survivors in remote, mountainous villages that had received little or no medical intervention.

HFI has returned each subsequent year to continue working hand-in-hand with AOGE to build homes and bring medical relief to those who are vulnerable. 

As we return again this coming year to provide healthcare services and much needed housing, we will be strengthening the long-term work of AOGE in Nepal. The team will serve numerous difficult-access communities in need of medical attention, while working on various construction oriented tasks. HFI is seeking your help in order to deliver these vital services.

The needs in Texas remain overwhelming; some homes are still untouched since the flooding devastated them. Hope Force International’s recovery and rebuild efforts continue in Texas — and we invite you to be a part!

We are so excited to announce that the ECCA school rebuild project has been fully funded, and the final block of classroom construction is underway!

There are no words to express the gratitude in our hearts as we celebrate this milestone of recovery and rebuild since Haiti's devastating 2010 earthquake. Thank you for your contribution and partnership which made this dream become a reality!

Given Haiti’s existing poverty prior to the 2010 earthquake, HFI’s long-term goal is to promote sustainable development and improve the overall quality of life for people in Sous Savanne and the surrounding area.
Hope Force strives to provide a life-changing experience for volunteers while increasing awareness in the Christian community about Haiti’s plight.
