Let's Talk Science volunteer opportunities

The University's Let's Talk Science program offers graduate students in the sciences a variety of opportunities to gain experience in science outreach, communication development, management and leadership skills.

Let's Talk Science is once again recruiting volunteers and Dr. Ute Wieden-Kothe will offer a free three-hour volunteer training session on September 29.

Proposal writing for TriCouncil scholarships workshop

September 15 at 2:30 p.m. in W646

This workshop will go over the details on writing a research proposal, focusing on the requirements for the TriCouncil Scholarships. Dr. Paul Vasey sits on one of the National TriCouncil Adjudication Committees, and will go over the requirements of the Vanier, Doctoral and Masters level proposals.  He will provide you with hints and tips to help you put together a strong proposal that will give you a greater chance of success. 

This workshop will only be covering the proposal itself; other workshops are set up for the various scholarships to over the application as a whole.

This Vanier Workshop will go over how to apply for this prestigious scholar as well as go through the details of Common CV and the online application.  A good companion workshop for this workshop is the TriCouncil Proposal Writing workshop (above).

Fall 2015 EndNote instruction

Endnote is a "bibliographic citation management software" used to manage and organize your research literature. It integrates with Microsoft Word (and selected other word processing software) so that you can "cite-while-you-write" using any of a number of built in citation styles.

Register now for the one of the two two-part sessions during the Fall 2015 term.

 
 

SPOR studentship competition

The Career Development in Methods and Health Services Research Platform is pleased to announce the first competition for the SPOR Graduate Studentship in Patient-Oriented Research. The program will fund up to eight (8) awards. The application deadline is October 1, 2015

SPOR Methods Hub workshop

Do you have questions about research? Do you need some help on methods or analytics? Are you looking for tools to measure outcomes?

The Methods Hub is here to help. The Methods Hub is a group of dedicated health researchers who have expertise in methodology and will be hosting a workshop Thursday, September 24, from 10 am to 3 pm.

You are encouraged to present some of your research and area of expertise, or suggest additional topics/questions for the agenda. Please RSVP to Dr. Brenda Leung, brenda.leung@uleth.ca

The GSA, in partnership with Lethbridge Transit, offers all graduate students reduced transit fares through a U-Pass program. If you have questions regarding the U-Pass and its distribution, please see the GSA website
