The drugs.ie website now contains a section to support the new HSE National Drugs Awareness Campaign. The campaign was officially launched on the 7th of July by Minister for Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs; Pat Carey and is entitled 'Legal or Illegal highs - they're anything but safe'.

Before the recent ban on a number of substances previously available in Head Shops in Ireland, a group of Irish based pharmacology researchers set out to identify the constituents in a number of the best selling products available in Head Shops in Dublin. Drugs.ie has produced a 'feature' based on this research, and a subsequent follow up feature.
