Happy New Year!

Header

Hey, it’s good to be back!

Like everyone at this time of the year, we’ve set ourselves resolutions: drink more coffee, eat more Tim Tams, and continue to build on the excellent work of the past year.

That’s why we’re kicking off the New Year in style with an exciting staff announcement, a brand new version of ENDUROCADD®, new training dates, and the announcement of the 2018 ENDUROCADD® Conference to be held in August.

We’re also excited to announce that our most requested feature – Automatic Selection of Opening Properties – is almost ready and expected for deployment next month.

2018 ENDUROFRAME® Conference

Header

Speaking of conferences, our team is travelling to Queensland in August for the National Association of Steelframed Housing (NASH) 2018 conference then continuing the party by hosting our biennial ENDUROCADD® Conference on Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th August on the Gold Coast. A detailing 'masterclass' will be held on Friday 17th August for detailers.

This is an excellent opportunity to participate with the ENDUROFRAME® team in various workshops and participate in presentations designed to update you on current and future developments. This conference will enable your voice to be heard  when we are planning our future system enhancement priorities.

So we can get an idea of numbers for planning purposes, please indicate an expression of interest on whether or not you are likely to attend by contacting Warren on this link by the 16th February.

Watch this space for more information on the conference!

Fixing BOM errors on the spot

Header

Fixing BOM errors has previously been performed at the end of a job. This was often a difficult process because it wasn’t always clear where to look to fix the errors. Now BOM errors are displayed whenever you:

  • Create wall parts for any wall
  • Recreate NC Data.

This is a huge deal because it means you can fix any errors on the spot before continuing to detail the next wall.

Even better, you are now alerted when you switch away from walls with existing BOM errors so you can opt to fix them before continuing.

For information about the list of possible errors and warnings, see BOM errors.

For information about the list of codes displayed in BOM error messages, see Operation codes.

Showing and hiding ceiling blocks

Header

When you’ve got a complicated job it’s important to be able to see things clearly.

That’s why we’ve expanded the functionality of the Visibility settings window to allow you to show and hide ceiling blocks in both the main workspace and 3D models.

For information about the Visibility settings window, see Changing the visibility settings.

Importing BIM files

Header

Sharing is caring when it comes to using Industry Foundation Class (IFC) files created by Building Information Modelling (BIM) packages such as Revit and Archicad

That’s why we’ve added an Import BIM file option to the Foreign CAD toolbar icon menu so you can easily import IFC files created in programs such as Revit and Archicad.

Importing IFC files benefits your workflow by:

  • Reducing detailing time by an estimated 2-3 hours
  • Automating the selection of header and jamb stud selections next to openings
  • Ensuring your steel frames closely match the BIM file prepared by the architect

For information on importing BIM files, see Importing BIM files.

Automatic selection of opening properties

Header

During the 2016 ENDUROCADD® Conference we asked you to identify your most important enhancements and automatic selection of wall opening properties topped the list.

Now we’re excited to announce that this feature is almost ready.

Soon you will be able to define a wall opening template that defines the exact number of jamb studs, tie downs, packers, headers and header tie downs required for your openings.

Once the template is created any new wall openings follow your exact specifications.

More information coming soon!
