On behalf of the Association of National Stakeholders in Traffic Safety Education (ANSTSE), the ANSTSE Behind-the-Wheel Task Group and the ANSTSE Testing/Assessment Task Group, we are pleased to announce the release of the “Stopgap Measures in Driver Education During a Pandemic or an Emergency.” This document provides temporary solutions for behind-the-wheel instruction, end-of-course knowledge testing and driving performance assessment during a pandemic or an emergency. The document can be found here. As you know, ADTSEA has formally endorsed AAA’s How to Drive curriculum as the officially approved curriculum of ADTSEA. MEMBER NEWS NEW Video from Andy Pilgrim’s Traffic Safety Education FoundationAndy Pilgrim through his foundation, has produced numerous traffic safety education videos and PSA’s since 2012. These educational productions are currently used in classrooms by thousands of driver education teachers all over the US. U.S. Department of Transportation Seeks Public Comment on Automated Driving System Safety PrinciplesThe U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is seeking public comment on the potential development of a framework of principles to govern the safe behavior of automated driving systems (ADS) in the future. The advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPRM) was submitted to the Federal Register on November 19 and is available online here.
