Dear Colleagues, Congratulations for adapting to all of the changes this past Spring. I marvel at your resilience and creativity in the midst of such a challenging time for our community. Last week I met with a handful of our Chapman students to ask them about how their instructors maintained a personal connection to them during the move to remote teaching. It was a vigorous conversation, that can be viewed in this blog post. These past few weeks I have received many (many!) questions about how the Fall semester will work. As you may expect, there are currently more questions than there are answers, but we are chipping away at resolving each concern that is raised. Our largest projects of the moment are the Canvas Course Design training and the HyFlex Classroom Enhancements. If you haven’t already, I would strongly suggest that you sign up for Course Design training and soon we will also be sharing more information about our newly-outfitted classrooms. Please reach out if you have any questions, I am readily available via email or MS Teams. Sincerely, Jana Remy May Canvas UpdatesEach month, new updates to Canvas improve our experience. ![]() Here's the Syllabus for Your Summer Crash Course in Online EducationCongratulations, you made it through the virtual semester. Now what? No one knows yet what the next semester will bring, but there’s a good chance the spaces where you used to teach, whether cavernous lecture hall or cozy seminar room, won’t be available this fall. That’s right, more virtual class time may be in your future. So this summer might be the right time to learn a little more about online pedagogy.
