Tesco Viñalba Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 (14.5%) £10. Huge texture and rippling with more depth and flavour than a mulberry in a black hole.
Definition Gavi DOCG 2019 (12.5%) £9.99 mix six Majestic. Smash a melon into a peach and freeze the perfect balance - you get this quenching riot of refreshment.
Aldi Specially Selected Chilean Gran Reserva Pinot Noir 2019 (14%) £6.99. On the richer side for Pinot, this manages its silken spiciness with aplomb.
M&S Classics Pinot Grigio 2019 (12.5%) £7. Pinot Grigio with great purity and bracing liveliness - rather like snowboarding on lemon peel.
Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference Verdicchio Classico 2019 (13%) £7. Richness and bite, this accomplished white belies its price and is hard to beat alongside green pesto dishes.
Asda Extra Special Douro 2019 (13.5%) £6.50. A gold medal winner for this deep dark fulsome red with a ripple of spice. Top notch winter warmer for the cash, who needs that extra jumper? Just wrap yourself around this Portuguese victor.
Tesco Finest Cream Sherry (18%) £6. Liquid mince pies. This is lush from the fridge as a sticky sumptuous festive treat.
Gunderlock Redstone Riesling (11.5%) £8 Co-Op The aromas are delicately suffused with aromatic zestiness, somewhere between fresh lime and juniper and when you sip it… so fine, bright tapering elegance and really attractive citrus-nectarine charm. Cooking Thai food? Look no further.
Morrisons Viñalba Malbec 2019 (14.5%) £10. Feel the power of darkness! Scented, rich, supple and moreish, this red wine is so delicious the only thing to improve it is a second glass.
Bonterra Estate Collection Chardonnay 2019 (13.5%) £8.99 Waitrose in store. This is on introductory offer and will retail in future for £12.99 so dive in quick. It’s sleek, peachy Chardonnay with well-judged zing and oak, perfection with fish pie or try it chilled with a slice of mature cheddar for a unique pairing to wow.
