No Images? Click here Barnard College Update - Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017Dear Claremont resident: Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed your holidays and are looking forward to the beginning of the semester. We are pleased to report that we should begin erecting steel for the new building towards the end of next week or the beginning of the following week. The construction team worked over the break on an amended operations plan that will now allow the crane to be lowered and secured on the site during most wind events instead of having to be moved onto Claremont. While the work on this amended plan set us back a bit on the schedule, the change will help minimize the crane’s impact on the Claremont community. We will update you next week once we have a firm starting date. In the meantime, we’d again like to thank you for your patience as we worked through this process. The safety of our communities remains of utmost importance to Barnard and we apologize for the inconvenience this caused. Questions? For general questions and comments, please email me at newbuilding@barnard.edu. If you have an urgent issue that needs to be addressed immediately, please email constructionteam@barnard.edu during regular work hours, or call Barnard Public Safety at 212/854-3362 outside of regular work hours.
