Relief for commercial tenantsYesterday the Prime Minister announced new measures for commercial tenants with a mandatory code of conduct for commercial tenancies to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) affected by the coronavirus. This Code applies to tenants that are:
Rent reductions will be based on the tenant’s decline in turnover to ensure that the burden is shared between landlords and tenants. The Code and its principles will be implemented and regulated by your relevant state or territory. SA Government $5.7M Tourism Support PackageThe $5.7 million package is designed to help the tourism sector get through the crisis, as well as rebound strongly at the other end. Funding to help small tourism businesses and to assist organisers of regional and community events form the bulk of the assistance, as well as dedicated digital training for tourism operators and a project designed to boost business resilience. Tourism businesses can also apply for one of 600 free digital training packages. New touch-free $8 city parkingThe City of Adelaide last week implemented an innovative new online platform to assist in safer, touch-free parking at a significantly discounted price across all nine UPark locations. This gives $8 capped, touch-free daily parking when customers sign up online and use the new card. This is part of council's comprehensive $4 million COVID-19 Support Package.
