Research Update

Good afternoon,

Linked below is the May 2017 Domestic Tax Paid Estimate.

Below find a few key points provided by our Chief Economist, Michael Uhrich:

  • Domestic tax paid beer shipment volume increased by 3.8% in May 2017, which had one more selling day than May of 2016.
  • On a selling-day adjusted basis, shipments were down 0.7% in May 2017 compared to May 2016 and are now down 2% year-to-date.
  • Signs indicate that distributor inventory levels are stabilizing, following four straight months of inventory reductions.

If you have any questions, please contact Michael at either 202-737-2337 or muhrich@beerinstitute.org.

Cheers,

Jim McGreevy
President and CEO
