Hail Hot Bottlers!

A GLASS WITH...

A new episode of A Glass With... is out today with The History Guy himself, Dan Snow.  Tune in at aglasswith.com or via the usual podcast platforms to listen to our chat which covers the role of a good stiff drink through time!

SATURDAY KITCHEN

I'll be back on Saturday Kitchen this Saturday 27th June with special guest Rebecca Front live on video link and Ollie Dabbous in the studio cooking up a storm. Tune in from 10am BBC1.

ENGLISH WINE WEEK

This week is English Wine Week so I am tooting my horn very loudly in support of all our wonderful vineyards, winemakers and everyone involved in the English wine industry.  With over 500 vineyards in Great Britain there's bound to be one near you - pop over and pay them a visit! Near me I'm lucky to have great producers such as Hoffmann & Rathbone, Breaky Bottom, Coolhurst and Bolney - I enjoyed a glass of their Lychgate Bolney Rosé 2018 £14.99 this weekend, a redcurrant missile of a wine!

LOCKTAILS!

The latest episode of Locktails is released into the wild and this week I reveal the best recipe for a Bloody Mary in world history.  I use Bloody Ben's mix which will blow your mind and take your vodka and tomato juice to the next level.  We are delighted to offer Hot Bottlers a 10% discount in the Bloody Ben's online shop - use code LOCKTAILS at bloodybens.com and you can watch the episode free online at Mail+ here.

This week's VALUE VINO will take you on a romping festival of joyful flavours, all as always under ten quid.

Waitrose Aromatic & Citrus Spanish White 2019 (12%) £4.99. Under a fiver for a wine this good? Sheer magic. Easy soft white with gentle fragrance and appley refreshment. If it’s a bargain white wine you’re after, make this your go-to glass.

M&S Classics Claret 2019 (13.5%) £7. This Merlot-led blend created by prominent winemaker Charles Sichel is sleek and rich with a twist of vibrant tangy depth. Pour it with a steak or a hunk of Cheddar and revel in it's plush bold beauty. Red Bordeaux for seven quid this tasty? A rare find.

Marquis de Goulaine Sauvignon Blanc 2018 (12%) £9.79 Baythorne Wines. Love Sancerre but not so much the price? This is the wine for you. Piercing citrus persistence, breezy freshness and immense class for just under ten quid. A wine of polish and poise. Shellfish on the go? Order an ocean of this.

Côteaux Varois en Provence Rosé 2019 (13%) £9.50 M&S. Tastes like relaxation to me! Somewhere between a redcurrant, a cherry and a raspberry, this light rosé is ready to quench your thirst on just the right side of zingy. Summery and splendid.

Finest South African Chenin Blanc (Breede River Valley) 2019 (12.5%) £7.50 Tesco. Sizzling something spicy on the barbecue? Grab a bottle of this white with welly. Picture a pineapple that’s been sharpened to a fine point and you're on the right lines of this rich yet refreshing Chenin Blanc.

Cheers to you and keep in touch!
