Hi there,

The cost savings of cloud used to be a key benefit pushed by vendors for the technology. Recent years have seen more openness about that - yes, cloud does have cost saving benefits, but they’re only in the earlier days. Over time money saving isn’t the big benefit (and, equally we can argue it shouldn’t necessarily be the benefit companies stake their decision on).

Now a report from a SaaS VC powerhouse has flagged how for scaled-up players cloud could be doubling their infrastructure bill, and wiping hundreds of billions out in shareholder value.

With multiple big name investments under its belt, the claim has made people sit up and listen, with the assertions garnering plenty of debate, not least from the juggernaut providers that rule our worlds.

But are the findings relevant for businesses utilising the cloud for everyday systems?

Enjoy the read,
