From Our Family to Yours

Season’s Greetings from Transtar.  We are quickly approaching year-end and the holiday season has arrived.  During this time, it’s natural for us to reminisce on the year that has passed, and look forward with anticipation to the year to come.

I want to personally thank you for your business and let you know how much all of us at Transtar appreciate your continued partnership.  We understand that our relationship with you is at the heart of our business, and we do not take this responsibility lightly.  Transtar was founded on the philosophy that customers always come first, and this attitude drives our business to this day.

In 2012, we promise to continue to invest in the well-being and growth of our mutual businesses and industry.  We will keep providing you with world-class service, an extensive product offering, the highest quality parts, on-time delivery and the best value.  We are looking forward to a long relationship together.

On behalf of the entire Transtar family, we wish you and your family the very best for the holiday season and a year of health, happiness and prosperity.

Sincerely,

Neil Sethi
President, Driveline Distribution Group

Mission Possible

If you attended the 19th annual Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA) Powertrain Expo held October 27-31, 2011 at the Las Vegas Hilton, the first thing you heard upon entering the trade show was the theme song from the movie Mission Impossible.  Why did we choose this song to represent Transtar?  Well, because of our Mission Possible team!  Our team does everything we can to make your mission, possible.

This year at the Expo, not only did our Mission Possible team have attendees singing along to the music, they presented them with missions quite different than their own.  Each attendee had the opportunity to take part in Transtar’s Mission Possible Photo Scavenger Hunt.  This hunt consisted of five missions that highlighted a variety of benefits Transtar provides to our customers.

For each of the five missions an attendee completed, they were entered into a random drawing.  If an attendee completed all five missions, they were entered into our grand prize drawing.  Missions included taking pictures with a Transtar team member and having a picture taken at different places in the hotel.

The drawing prize winners, who each won an Apple iPad2, are Jonathan Becker of Cloquet Automotive Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta; Greg Doran of J&M’s Automatic Transmission Clinic in Provo, Utah; Jarad Warren of AAMCO Transmissions in Tigard, Oregon; Wendy Hage of Hage-Kobany Transmissions in Columbia Heights, Minnesota; and Melinda Kriner of Cottman Transmission in Vancouver, Washington.

The grand prize winner, who won an Apple MacBook Pro, was Peter Fink of Certified Transmission, in Omaha, Nebraska.  “The activity was a lot of fun,” said Peter.  “It was something different and a great way to get to know the people we speak to on a regular basis.”

Congratulations to all the winners!

A Hard Line on Hard Parts

When it comes to hard parts, Transtar holds a solid stance – which is doing everything we can to quickly obtain the quality hard parts you need so you can get your customers in and out fast.  That’s why we have taken huge steps to make sure these things come easier to you.

One of the steps we are taking is expanding our hard parts offering.  Each of our 59 branches has a broad range of hard parts, but now 28 of them are hard parts specialty locations.  In these locations, we have expanded our already comprehensive hard parts line to include hard parts for late model and hard-to-find import applications.  This means that whether it is Aftermarket, rebuilt, good used, or new OEM, each of our 59 branches has access to virtually any hard part you need – within one day.

Another step Transtar is taking is releasing a new series of premium rebuilt oil pump assemblies.  These oil pump assemblies are remanufactured by Recon™, feature all available Sonnax® upgrades, and have replacement of all wear components.  This new series of oil pump assemblies is utilized in a range of transmissions, such as the 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L80E, 5R110W, 4R100 and 5R55N/W/S.

What does this mean to you?  It means that these pumps are sealed and absolutely ready-to-install!  No need for time-consuming rebuilds!  And, at no additional cost to you, these premium oil pump assemblies can help get your customers in and out in record time!  Ask your sales rep about our new line of premium oil pump assemblies today.

Expanding the Mission

We are always looking for opportunities to provide the Transtar brand of quality and service to even more customers.  Last month, we opened a new branch in Knoxville, Tennessee, which is the third Transtar branch in that state!

Throughout the country, Transtar is investing in resources and people to better serve our customers.  If the Transtar brand of quality and service is not currently available in your area, Transtar wants to know.
