Happy Mew Year!!

And we hope your Meowlidays were as fun and interesting as our little MaryJane's!
We couldn't have been more delighted to get this picture! Mary Jane was rescued from an overcrowded shelter last winter and adopted into a wonderful loving home... and here she is visiting Santa at MHS this Christmas! You just have to smile when you look at it!
We get so many sweet, happy, lovely emails and pictures from all of you who have adopted kitties from us, and all we can say is "keep them coming!" They are ALWAYS the best part of our day.
Rescue is not easy, it is never-ending and some of the cats wait so long for a new home. But in the end, they do find their person(s) and we make new friends. We have been so blessed this year to meet so many new people, to be so welcomed into their homes, and to be able to be in touch and get the cute, funny, silly, GREAT pictures that you send. Or to hear your stories when you stop by one of our adoption events for an 'update'!
Thank you all for your love and support. We would not be able to do any of this without you!
Happy New Year, with love and gratitude (purrs and headbutts) from all of us at ASCS ~~ humans and furballs!!

Our good friend, Mary Bruck
Our good friend Mary Bruck suffered a severe stroke on Sunday, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Mary has been an avid supporter of ASCS since our very beginning. She works with Friends of Sacramento City Shelter Animals -- many of our cats and kittens come from this Sacramento shelter, so if you have adopted a kitty from us over the years, chances are that Mary had a hand in saving them. She is a powerhouse of an advocate for cats, feeds numerous feral cats, and helps with a spay/neuter clinic that is trying to turn things around in Sacramento. We send Mary our love and wish her a speedy recovery!!!

Maybe come and hang out at adoption day and give us kitties head rubs, belly rubs, love... and treats work, too! We’ll purr if you do!!!
