The Elmwood Village Association is featured as a case study in the newly released "Placemaking in Legacy Cities: Opportunities and Good Practices” from the Center for Community Progress".
Buffalo LISC was an early supporter of the Elmwood Village Association, formerly known as Forever Elmwood. In 2001 Elmwood Village Association was designated as one of LISC’s Neighborhood Main Street Initiative network members. LISC provided funding for three years for the first executive director, as well as for strategic planning and organizational technical assistance, aimed at promoting, developing and improving EVA’s management of the Elmwood Village commercial district.

Buffalo LISC, the Buffalo Bills and the National Football League Foundation are pleased to announce that the Niagara Falls City School District will receive an award from the NFL/LISC Grassroots Program of $200,000 toward the installation of a synthetic turf field surface at Nicoletti Field.
The grant, awarded by the Bills, the NFL Youth Football Fund and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), is part of $2.5 million in field refurbishment awards allocated this year.

Buffalo LISC is pleased to receive $45,000 from the M&T Charitable Foundation to go towards our Building Sustainable Communities initiative this upcoming year.
The grant is part of a 3-year pledge from the Foundation, totaling $135,000.
Our Building Sustainable Communities Initiative helps to create positive environments here in Buffalo. With our partners, we work to ensure that all residents of varied income levels are provided the opportunities and tools to build assets, to participate in their communities, and to become part of the mainstream economy.

The True Bethel Townhomes, developed by Belmont Housing Resources for WNY and True Community Development Corp, recently opened in late 2013.
Located on East Ferry Street in Buffalo, the project consists of 30 spacious units for low-income families. Six of the units are fully accessible for individuals with disabilities. The site also contains a new community center, complete with a large community room, kitchen, playground, and on-site laundry facilities.
Buffalo LISC, through its subsidiary, National Equity Fund (NEF), invested approximately $5.6 million in the project.
