2nd Grade eNews

Dear Parents,
Please don’t forget we are out of school Friday, March 17th. The following week will be our Spring Break - no school March 20th-24th. We will see the students again on Monday, March 27th. Enjoy this time with your families!

Upcoming Week

Bible – We will be studying Martha from John 11:1-45. Our memory verse will be: John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live.” We will say our verse on Thursday.
Reading – We will work on the skill, Character. Our story will be “Gloria, Who Might be my Best Friend.”
Spelling – Homophones – our test will be on Thursday.

Grammar – We will continue working with adjectives.
Writing- We will be writing about our best friend.
Math – Review of carrying, borrowing, multiplication, word problems, three digit addition & subtraction, geometric shapes, identifying shape patterns, symmetrical figures, parallel and intersecting lines, and sides and corners, and fractions

Important Dates

March 16th –Student Led Conferences 3:30-5:30 – This is a drop-in conference and will only take about 10 minutes.
March 17th - NO SCHOOL
March 20-24th – NO SCHOOL – SPRING BREAK
March 27th- Answers in Genesis at 9:00- We will go to main campus for this.
March 30th- Career Day, Students may dress up in the career uniform they choose.
April 3-7th – This will be the week of TN3 testing – we will test beginning at
8:15 a.m. until lunch time at 11:00 a.m. Please do not schedule any doctor or dentist appointments during this week if at all possible. We do not make up tests.
April 11th- Field trip to the bat caves
April 13th- Easter Speech Meet Program
May 11th- 5th Grade Musical at 9:15 on main campus
