Border restrictions – Victoria and NSW A permit is not required for emergency services personnel when performing official duties moving between Victoria and New South Wales. We encourage you to carry your CFA ID at all times when responding to incidents. Return to work locations planning The Premier recently announced that the Victorian Public Service may commence a phased return to workplaces from 11 January 2021. In line with this, our intent is to work towards a return of up to 25 per cent of our workforce to our usual work locations after 11 January. This is in addition to current operational staff requirements, and subject to the four-square-metre density rule. The majority of our staff will continue working remotely for now. Our Return to Workplace working group, which includes representation from all Directorates and Regions, has been tasked with liaising across work groups to determine how best to prioritise the return of staff within the 25 per cent capacity limit. We will provide more information to staff in the New Year. Strike Team Leader and Staging Area Kits The Strike Team Leader COVID kits have now been distributed to all groups and districts. The kits are supplied in backpacks and include guidance notes, a no-touch thermometer, a stock of nitrile and vinyl gloves, hand sanitiser and personal disposable masks. Staging Area Kits have also now been distributed to all district offices. Thank you The Pandemic Management Team first came together in late January 2020 to manage CFA’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. I don’t think any of us could have predicted at that time what our year would look like, both from a professional and personal standpoint. We changed the way we worked, the way we trained and the way we conducted fundraising and community engagement – but our dedication and ability to support our communities did not waver. CFA’s people are nothing if not agile and I want to thank each and every one of you on behalf of the PMT for your commitment and support during a particularly challenging year. Let’s continue to be vigilant and take care of ourselves and our families as we move to a more certain time and enjoy some well-deserved freedoms. I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce and welcome Marnie Edwards who has been appointed as the Pandemic Management Team Program Manager. Marnie will lead the PMT into 2021 as we engage with you to develop new ways of working. On behalf of the Pandemic Management Team I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.
