Spring Is In the Air

I can feel the heat of the sun's rays getting stronger everyday. The earthy smell of new leaves on the trees, flowers emerging from the sun warmed-soil and the heavy scent of pine as the sap rises in the trees. We have spotted new wildlife peeking from the bushes. Spring has arrived and summer will soon follow on its heels.

Season for Changes

After 14 years of  guiding and directing us, Christie Dunn, General Manager, has officially hung up her hat as the leader at the Belton Chalet. She is extending her "thanks" to all locals, vendors, employees, Belton Chalet guests and owners for the opportunity and support over the years. We are so proud of the accomplishments she made with the Belton Chlaet as a true Historic Gem in our community, statewide and nationally. Christie is very excited for her new career as co-owner of the Reclusive Moose Guest Cabins. We have no doubt she will shine just as bright there as she has for us. We will miss her dearly. Good Luck Christie!

Welcome Matthew Tousignant ~ New GM

As a small child my father surprised our whole family by showing up in front of our home in Northern Minnesota with what would become infamously known as "The World's Most Flammable Motorhome." My mother had been secretly packing for weeks to prepare us for our first family road trip. Our family was bound for the mountains of the west and so was my heart.

After departing St. Cloud State University, I was bound and determined to breathe the cold mountain air of the Rockies once more. I told myself that I could spend one summer living in a National Park before I needed to get a "big boy" job. Well, that one summer of fun turned into a career in Hospitality Management. One opportunity has lead to another working in the seasonal hospitality industry for me.

I have had the privilege to be in a role of management many places around the globe. Places ranging from Colorado, South Western Australia, Massachusetts, Wyoming, The Virgin Island, Minnesota, California, and the last three years right here in Glacier National Park.

During my first visit to Glacier National Park I knew that this slice of heaven would someday be my future home. Less than a year later from my initial visit I moved to West Glacier and  proudly call it home.

Overseeing the first lodging operation of Glacier National Park is "an honor, a privilege, and a joy. Not only am I excited about working in a living museum but I'm also thrilled to represent the Belton name which will continue to stand for quality at every level".
