  4. A time zone converter widget

Hello everyone!

Last week I launched Offscreen No14. It's so nice to finish off an issue and finally release 14 weeks of work into the world! Seeing all the kind words come in through email, Twitter and the likes is what every indie publisher lives for – and, of course, not to forget the many orders that make it all worthwhile.

Today, I'm back at it with my logistics hat on. I just exported orders for about 2500 copies. My shipper in Berlin will spend the best part of today, tomorrow and even Thursday boxing, labelling and shipping it all out. It's not too late though to get your order in and be part of the first big load that goes out – see below.

Another heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to everyone who supports my work (Offscreen and The Modern Desk). I sometimes still can't believe I'm producing products that are sold and read around the world. All thanks to you!

Kai

This Weekʼs Line-Up

A silicon holding strap for your iPad
01

Get a grip! Inspired by the way painters hold their palettes, this silicon strap helps you not drop your expensive device. Nice hack: you can put a tennis ball (or similar) between the strap and the device to turn it into a stand.

A menu bar app for quick file sharing
02

I've been a paying user of Droplr for a few years now, but Dropshare looks like a great alternative with a low, one-off fee instead of an ongoing subscription. What is Dropshare? It's is a so-called menulet that enables you to easily drag 'n' drop files, folders and anything else to your own server, Amazon S3, Rackspace Cloud Files, Backblaze B2 or Google Drive. Once uploaded, the app copies the link to the file to your Mac's clipboard, ready to share.

See and touch your time
03

The design of this watch is as elegant as it is brutal. Designed in collaboration with the blind, The Bradley by Eone Time is a timepiece you can touch and see to tell time. I've never seen anything like it and going through the different colour/material options I'm now seriously considering spending a few hundreds dollars on this beast...

A time zone converter widget
04

If, like me, you often work across many different time zones you'll like this widget for your iPhone: slide down from the top and have instant access to this well-designed time zone converter. Neat!

A ‘smart’ bookshelf/reading light
05

Ok, so this is perhaps not a shelf you'd install at your office, but LiliLite is such a beautiful little product, I had to give it a shoutout. Install LiliLite over your bed to store your favourite books on one end and rest your current read (open) on the other. When you're ready to get into it, the light turns itself on automatically!

Email copy from great companies
06

The problem with emails isn't just the amount we have to deal with, it's also the quality of the content: generic, impersonal, unimaginative. This site offers a simple collection of well-worded email copy. Would love to see this grow!
