CPC Rallies at U.S. Supreme Court to Support
DACA Recipients and DreamersCPC traveled to Washington, DC with the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) on November 12th to join a nation-wide march. While in DC, staff also accepted the 2019 Democracy Champion Award on behalf of the Let NY Vote Coalition.

In Memory: Josephine Ho, CPC Board MemberIt is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Josephine Ho, a CPC Board Member and advocate for Asian immigrants. Josephine served on the CPC Board for 30 years and dedicated her life to the community with kindness and compassion.
CPC Employment Services Hosts Second Open House for Census Bureau Jobs On November 15th, more than 25 community members attended a special open house at the Manhattan Community Center to learn more about working for the U.S. Census Bureau.
Beacon National Network and YMCA of Virginia Visit CPC Beacon Community CenterCPC Beacon Community Center at IS 220 in Brooklyn was asked by NYC's Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and the Beacon National Network to host a site visit for the YMCA of Virginia and Roanoke City Schools, who are interested expanding the Beacon model to their region.
In Memory: Denise Eng, Director of CPC Queens SACCC at PS20 With heavy hearts, CPC announces the passing of Denise Eng, Director of CPC Queens School-Age Child Care Center (SACCC) at PS20. Denise has been serving the children of Flushing and Chinatown Manhattan with CPC since 1988.

CPC Brooklyn Community Services Special Needs Program Celebrate Thanksgiving with Community MembersOn November 24th, CPC Brooklyn Community Services' Special Needs Program hosted a Thanksgiving Celebration party for the program's families and community members.
CPC Nan Shan Senior Center in Flushing, Queens distributed Thanksgiving turkeys to senior members on November 22nd. Thank you to New York City Council Member Peter Koo, Peter Tu of Flushing Chinese Business Association, and the Lions Club who provided and helped distribute the turkeys.
CPC Brooklyn Community Services Hosts Elder Abuse Prevention Workshop On November 13th, Tamia Rodriguez, MSW, program director of JASA Legal/ Social Work Elder Abuse Program (LEAP), spoke to members of CPC Brooklyn Senior Services about preventing elder abuse.
A nutritionist, Daniel Wong of Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, held a health workshop for our seniors at CPC Chinatown Senior Center on November 6th covering diabetes and healthy diet.

CPC Brooklyn Community Services: A Passion for Ink Exhibition On November 10th, CPC Brooklyn Community Services co-hosted a Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition titled “A Passion for Ink” at the Confucius Plaza Art Gallery in the heart of Chinatown.

CPC Speaks at Roundtable on Future of Asian Americans in Social Service A roundtable discussion hosted by the Asian Health and Social Services Council addressed issues faced by Asian American social work and helping professionals. The roundtable was held on November 16th at the Grand Street Settlement Essex Crossing Community Center.
CPC Joins Inclusive Value Ledger Campaign Proposed by AM Ron Kim and Senator Julia SalazarOn November 13th, Assembly Member Ron Kim and State Senator Julia Salazar were joined by CPC in addition to other advocates to announce their Inclusive Value Ledger (IVL) Campaign, the nation's first public payment system.
City & State NY published their "2019 Nonprofit Power 100" list and CPC's President & CEO, Wayne Ho, was named number 48.
The Community Advisory Group met on November 19th and will advise on a community research survey tool, decide on issues of focus, and make recommendations for a final implementation plan.
On December 2nd, the first snowfall of the season, parents of individuals with special needs came out for a very important topic: preventing child ID theft.
APA Census Complete Count Committee Gathers 100 LeadersCPC is part of the APA Census Complete Count, and Brenda Choy, Strategic Associate, attended and facilitated an icebreaker for this convening on November 16th.
CPC Project Gateway is hosting a free escape-the-room experience. Join us for some puzzles, mysteries, and challenges. Swing by to reunite, network, or meet new people. Share your college experiences through a 1st-year panel discussion and celebrate over lunch and hot chocolate.
