BCU Business Breakfast: Valuation from the Buyer's Perspective

BCU Business Breakfast: Valuation from the Buyer's Perspective

On November 17, we hosted our second Business Breakfast at the Coloniale Golf Club. Members of the Beaumont business community enjoyed a buffet breakfast as they listened to guest speaker John Carvalho CA CBV CF, Managing Director of DAI Capital Advisors Inc., talk about the advantages of business valuation.

In his presentation, John outlined the relationship between risk, return, and value. He explained that businesses must first look at how buyers would value them and then set the fair market value at a price that appeals to them.

"Our members left with a better understanding of how valuation can be used as a strategic business tool," noted Camille Bérubé, BCU's CEO. "Even our staff discovered new tools to assist our members." Missed the breakfast? Download John's presentation here .

We will be hosting more Business Breakfasts in 2011. Stay tuned for further details. If you would like to be put on the invitation list, please email us or contact Rachelle at 780-929-1388.

Business owners can use this planner to develop a complete profile and financial strategy, which can then be used in valuating their company. Instead of overvaluating or undervaluating your company, you'll have a better idea of its fair market value. This, in turn, will allow you to plan for the future and seize certain opportunities.
