A woman has her hands resting on a pushchair and stands next to a man, who is holding a child in his arms. The man and woman are smiling at the camera, with green trees and bushes out of focus behind them. A white CLAPA logo is in the top right of the photo

Coffee Club: 'Grandparents'

We're pleased to announce that next month's CLAPA Coffee Club will be for grandparents on Monday 13th September at 7pm via Zoom!

While grandparents are very welcome at all of our Coffee Clubs, in September we're creating a space specifically for grandparents to connect with each other and share their unique experiences with others who understand.⠀
⠀
This will be a great chance to share any worries, concerns and experiences, but you are also very welcome to come along and listen in to the discussion if you prefer. If you're a grandparent, we'd love to see you there! If you're not a grandparent, please do share the event details with anyone who might be interested.

About CLAPA Events

Michael's Wing Walk

Michael has taken on a pretty incredible challenge in support of our work. He told us, 'My son Tom was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. He has had several major operations and hundreds of procedures. He has become a brilliant singer, actor and musician. I am his proud father who wants to give something back to CLAPA – so with immense trepidation I’m standing on top of a biplane doing 120mph and a loop-the-loop!'

Thank you, Michael!

Thank You!

As it nears the end of August, we wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in CLAPA's Big Summer Party this year! You've brought your local community together, raised vital funds to support our work, and helped spread the word about cleft - and we think you're amazing. Thank you for helping to make our work possible.

Elizabeth's Craft Sale

Elizabeth recently raised £491.75 for CLAPA by organising a yard sale and selling her handknits, handbags, and other crafty creations!
⠀
She told us, 'My great grandson Billy was my inspiration to raise money for CLAPA. It was one of the best experiences with beautiful weather and a day where all the friends and neighbours came together to support me with fundraising.'⠀
⠀
She added, 'If anyone is considering fundraising do not hesitate as you might find it to be one of the best things you have ever done!'⠀
⠀
Thank you, Elizabeth!
