Sermon & Scripture for 02.05.12

It is Super Bowl weekend!  That means it is time to break out all the high fat, high caloric, fatty foods, sugary sodas, and settle in on the sofa all day Sunday - right?  After all our bodies are our own.  We can do with them what ever we want, right?  God only cares about what is on the inside.  Would you believe that the Bible says otherwise?  Would you believe that God actually cares deeply about how we treat our bodies - our temples?  Come Sunday as we continue our series Extreme Makeover: Christian Edition.  Our text is
I Corinthians 6: 12-13, 19-20.  We will be looking at the issue of physical health and learn that it is Time to Treat Your Body like a Temple.  Come and be inspired to glorify God in body, mind, and spirit!

Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Ben and Pastor Tawny

To the Fantastic Congregation of St. Mark's UMC,

Just wanted to drop you a belated note of thanks for all of your outreach to our Brooks' families this year!  The Angel Tree helped so many and the Backpack Buddy program continues to fill those tummies!  Our kids are learning with a little less stress thanks to you all!

Sincerely,
Heather Roberts

North Raleigh Ministries needs your help!

The NRM food pantry is critically low on spaghetti sauce and jelly.  A container for donations is located inside the Education building beside the Coke machine.  No glass, please.  Cans or plastic jars only.  Over 1,000 families in our North Raleigh community received food from NRM's food pantry in 2011.  Your help is greatly appreciated.
