Foundation's Annual Appeal Began on November 15th

Protecting Palm Beach Gardens requires constant vigilance and commitment in staffing, equipment and expertise.

Police departments throughout the country continue to feel the strain of the economic crisis.

The mission of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Foundation is to help bridge the gap between the needs of the Police Department and the annual City budget allocation by securing private funding.

The 2012-13 Annual Fund Drive kicked off on November 15th as thousands of residents and businesses received a donor package.

The theme of this year's fund drive is "... We Can Do More If We Have Your Support"

While taxes provide for basic services, the Police Foundation provides the funds to incubate creative strategic initiatives, help the Police keep pace with rapidly changing technology, meet time-sensitive needs, and implement vital new projects.

When it comes to making sure our Police Officers have what it takes to keep us safe, there is no better ally than you and the Palm Beach Gardens Police Foundation.

Can we count on your support in helping to make Palm Beach Gardens a safer city to live, work and visit?

Foundation Grant Highlights: 2008-2012

The Foundation's mission is to enhance the safety of our community and the effectiveness of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.

We've provided over $150,000 in grants and equipment over the past five years.  Here are a few highlights:

  • In 2008, for the first time in the newly formed Foundation's history, a substantial purchase was made for the department - a $10,000 K9 dog named Czephr.   The K9 was purchased to replace another police dog who had been diagnosed with cancer
  • In 2009 the Foundation purchased "Project Lifesaver" - equipment to quickly locate and rescue "at risk" individuals who are at constant risk to the life threatening behavior of wandering including those with Alzheimer's, Autism, and Down syndrome
  • In 2010 the Foundation funded advanced training for Officers in the management of rape and domestic aggression cases
  • 2011 brought the purchase, with Foundation funding, of Rapid ID systems, a biometric identity management solution that allows law enforcement Officers to determine subjects’ identities in the field
  • In 2012 Foundation funds purchased a NightVision ATAC-360° Thermal Camera for the Department's newly acquired all-hazards special response vehicle.

Over the years the Foundation has also sponsored the Annual Joy Drive bringing gifts to disadvantaged children who might not otherwise be remembered during the holidays.

We've sponsored the Police Explorers, a career-oriented program that gives young adults the opportunity to explore a career in law enforcement by working with local law enforcement agencies and funded the Citizens' Police Academy as well as the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
