Gender Neutral Bathroom Week

Restroom sign with male and female silhouettes

April 7 – 11

In an effort to promote gender diversity at WSU Vancouver, student leaders will host the third annual Gender Neutral Bathroom Week. This week, some restrooms in each building will be designated universal bathrooms. Gender Neutral Bathroom Week has the goal of raising awareness that we do not all conform to societal expectations related to gender, but we all need to use the bathroom.

More than 60 volunteer students, staff and faculty wearing "toilet trainer" T-shirts will be available to provide educational information throughout the week. The campus community is invited to participate in a town hall-style discussion about the week at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11 in the Library, Room 201. Learn more by reading the FAQs.  For additional information, contact the student leads or Bola Majekobaje at 6-9568.

Give to the Faculty & Staff Campaign by Friday

Big Ideas

Participation is the goal for the annual Faculty & Staff Campaign. You have until Friday to make a gift of any size to the fund of your choice. The College of Business has already achieved 100 percent participation in this year’s campaign.

With an outstanding giving history, WSU Vancouver is again aiming for high participation. Last year, 66 percent of faculty and staff participated—way above the national average of approximately 23 percent and any of the other WSU campuses. Help us maintain our top spot with your donation.

Visit the Faculty & Staff Giving Campaign website to learn more and see the funds you may choose to support. If you have questions, please call Lisa Abrahamsson in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 6-9600.

Do you send email notifications about events or deadlines to current students or community members? Sending to large lists of people through Outlook can potentially damage WSU Vancouver’s reputation with Internet service providers and our ability to send and receive email to off-campus addresses.

If you are emailing to more than a dozen off-campus people, please reconsider your approach. A couple options exist.

If you are marketing an event, Marketing and Communications regularly helps create beautiful HTML emails. We use a system called Campaign Monitor that offloads the sending portion and keeps us in good graces with Internet service providers so everything flows smoothly in the world of email messaging.

If you are working with large internal lists, there is a great service through Pullman IT called Mailman. Take a look.
