South Australia Mining and Energy Jobs Report Vacancy Analysis - Oct 2016In October 98 mining jobs were advertised for roles in South Australia, resulting in the fifth
month of positive growth (compared to the same time last year) in the South Australian Mining Industry. The South Australia Mining and Energy Jobs Report is a monthly indicator compiled by RESA based upon publicly available data. This report focuses on job advertisements as an indicator of employment trends rather than as a summary of total employment or economic activity in the sector, and as such is intended as a measure of market sentiment. OZ Minerals officially opens Tjati Decline at CarrapateenaThe Tjati Decline at the Carrapateena mining site was officially opened on 3 November 2016. The mine is expected to produce 61,000 tonnes of copper and 63,000 ounces of gold per year, with a 20 year mine life, with potential to expand. completed, results are now available for review on the the OZ Minerals website. The study concludes that development of the orebody is technically achievable and presents a viable business case for development. View media releases

Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission reports released by government and communityReports in response to the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission have been released in the form of a Community Views Report and a Government Response. The citizen's jury, Community Views Report was delivered to Premier Jay Weatherill on the evening of Sunday 6 Nov, reporting two thirds of jury participants
did not want South Australia to store high-level nuclear waste "under any circumstances". View Community Views Report The Government Response was delivered on November 12 and concluded that
The State Government will support nine of the 12 recommendations in the Royal Commission Report. The Government has concluded the only path forward is the restoration of bipartisanship and broad social consent secured through a State-wide referendum. View Government Response
WPG Resources Tarcoola mine to go aheadOn 11 Nov 2016 WPG Resources' Board of Directors announced that they have approved the decision to Mine at Tarcoola. This decision followed approval by the South Australian Department of State Development of the project’s Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPR), payment of $72,000 into a Significant Environmental Benefit vegetation clearance offset account and lodgement and registration of the mine closure rehabilitation bond of $1.76 million. Lincoln Minerals shows promiseLincoln Minerals has started fielding keen customer interest in its near-term, highgrade graphite deposit in South Australia.
Lincoln is currently working on Kookaburra Gully deposit's Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation approval and Managing Director, John Parker hopes the project would be under construction before the end of 2017, subject to finance and final government approval. View article

Work experience placement programIn conjunction with University of Adelaide, and in collaboration SACOME and AusIMM, RESA have established a program to match mining engineering students to work experience placement opportunities. The ‘Hot Rubble’ mining careers website (www.hotrubble.com.au) provides the necessary tools and information for students to seek work experience. Since program commencement in October, XX undergraduates have been accepted for work placements
at Anglogold Ashanti, Terramin Australia, the Department of State Development and OZ Minerals. Arrium announces sale of Moly-CopArrium administrators signed a $1.6 billion deal with US private equity firm American Industrial Partners, to sell the Moly-Cop grinding media business on 4 Nov 2016. Sales completion is expected in early 2017, with the additional components of Arrium’s business remaining on the market. View media release
