We are excited to announce our Legacy Award Honoree, Ms. Peggy Sheng, in recognition of her dedication and profound impact on advancing the health and well-being of our community. Peggy Sheng is the former Chief Operating Officer of the Coalition of Asian American IPA (CAIPA), where she dedicated over 30 years to advancing healthcare access and advocacy for AAPI communities across Greater New York. Her leadership supported more than 1,400 healthcare providers serving over 500,000 residents and helped establish the CAIPA Community Service Fund and Foundation, expanding family services, food access, mental health, and wellness programs. During COVID-19, she coordinated the delivery of hundreds of thousands of PPE to 58 hospitals, earning recognition as a New York State “Community Pandemic Hero.” She continues her service through the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation New York Chapter. Message from Ms. Peggy Sheng I’m truly honored to be recognized by the Chinese-American Planning Council. For more than sixty years, CPC has been a trusted presence for AAPI, immigrant, and low-income communities across New York City, helping families thrive and opening doors to opportunity. Through my work at CAIPA, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with CPC on community health efforts, education, and expanding access to care and essential resources. Working together has reinforced my belief that culturally responsive services and strong partnerships are key to advancing health equity and dignity for all. This recognition means a great deal to me because it reflects what’s possible when organizations come together in service of our communities. I’m deeply grateful to CPC for this honor and for its continued commitment to compassion, equity, and lasting community well-being. ABOUT CPC 關於華策會 ACERCA DE CPC |
