The Long Lost Brothers play The Bakery, Friday! Double Pass...
Cool Perth Nights announce a new band comp with $10,000 cash first prize. Starting next year & running anually this is HUGE. Check Ongoing for further details.
Local electronic music producer Leon Osborne, reviewed by Lyndon Blue below, is making mad stuff. Check his tune Wing while you're with us this week.
Lyndon Blue commentates on the Wild Cats themed party that was at Geisha Bar's Daisuki night. The new arena saw Perth lose to Adelaide Friday night but Sunday night we reigned supreme.
Amber Fresh sings & plays around town. She has hurt one of her hands, which is every musicians greatest nightmare. Still Amber plays on, as she ought to for all our sakes! She supported Washington on the weekend & has reviewed this Quarry performance. Review here.
Christopher Isaacs brings Glengarry Glen Ross, a piece of theatre about two days in the lives of unethical real estate agents, to our attention. The play by David Mamet won the 1984 Pulitzer Prize. It's at the Blue Room now!
Shannon Fox chats with interview reticent Chris Bailey ahead of the Saints show at the Fly By Night. His cool is rivalled by Shannon - that's for sure.
The Long Lost Brothers launch their new tune Errors at The Bakery this Friday supported by Runner, Blackmilk & Flower Drums. We've got a double pass or two here to catch the show.

Lyndon Blue: live reviews
DAISUKI PRESENTS... PERTH WILDCATS TRIBUTE NIGHT @ GEISHA, SUNDAY NOVEMBER 18
It should have been a fairy-tale match. The Perth Wildcats had moved into their new $550,000,000 home in the city, just as the billboards had promised. They had a crowd – 11,000 strong – on side. Despite two straight losses behind them, the big shiny home game ought to’ve put some wind in their sales. But the Wildcats couldn’t convert, and were conquered 69-65 by the remorseless Adelaide 36ers. Triumph for the ‘Cats was never guaranteed, but it sure would have been a nice end to the evening that marked Perth Arena’s sporting debut.

Shannon fox: Chris Bailey Interview
When the Saints come mumbling in.
***Check CPN Next week as we have a double pass giveaway to see the Saints at The Fly By NIght Nov 30.
Generally when an artist starts out making music, interviews and press commitments aren’t their priority. Even if they seek out fame, rarely would a musician be into spending an entire day answering the same questions over and over. (And haven’t we all heard by now that the music press is the enemy?) With this in mind, it’s no surprise that sometimes an interview, particularly over email, is a bit like a tug-of-war – especially if the subject is one of the luminaries of punk music…

chris isaacs: in the black box
Little y Doing The Business
Little y Theatre Company have made quite an impression in Perth since their first Scent Tales. With great houses, fantastic reviews and garnishing a few awards Scent Tales didn’t just give Little y a leg up in the industry, it firmly stamped them on the map. Following Scent Tales came Slut, a Patricia Cornelius play. Slut again confirmed the Little y’s ability to present a strong and well thought piece of theatre, and again used an all-female cast.

no lights no lycra
at the banks reserve pavilion, perth
A dance night based on abandoning self-consciousness and professionalism through no lights and no talking as you bust a move, NLNL has finally hit Perth after incarnations across the Eastern States.
Whilst flirting and showing off are moves that are sacrificed, what emerges is self-confidence invested within the purity of dancing as well as a killer work-out to boot. Not to mention the uplifting sight of a town hall filled with shadowy apparitions shifting shapes to Getting Jiggy With It.
$5 from 7pm.
Ed: NLNL is on hiatus until next week when it moves to City Farm. But, there is an installment in Freo if you can't wait. Every Tuesday from 7:55pm, Scots Church, cnr South Tce & Parry St.

The Rink plays at 8pm, November 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and December 1 with a 2pm matinee November 18, followed by a high tea, and a 7pm show November 25.

avenue q
at the roleystone theatre, roleystone
November 16, 17, 21, 23, 24, 28 and 30 and December 1
All shows at 8pm except November 24 that also has a 2pm matinee.
AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbours seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fiancé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?! Yes, that Gary Coleman. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. The musical is notable for the use of puppets alongside human actors.
